    Courses

For programme with start Fall 2010:

    Fall 2010

    Fall 2011

    Fall 2012

    Organisation

The programme consists of four modules, each worth 30 ECTS credits, making 120 ECTS credits in total.

The content, learning activities and means of assessment as well as the significance of the individual components are established within each module. The programme is designed to proceed systematically along multidisciplinary lines, with a main emphasis on History with Focus on European Studies. This construction entails the gradual evolution and specialisation of scientific, thematic, practical and personal competency as the instruction progresses:

    Module 1

This is the basic module in the major History with Focus on European Studies. At the same time, it forms an introduction to the programme and to problem-based project work. Here the future progression of the studies is planned and prepared.

    Modules 2 & 3

In these modules the student’s field of knowledge is broadened with Culture and Language Studies(English, German or French), Communication and the Media, and with skills in Language, Communication and Web Design. The historical perspective in relation to the media and the public is widened. Specialised knowledge and experience is gained in how to conduct independent projects.

    Module 4

This module concludes the programme with Master’s Thesis/Speciale, wherein the student must demonstrate an ability to formulate, carry out and present an independent, problem-orientated project based on scientific principles. Here the major History with Focus on European Studies is investigated in more depth.
Generally, the working language is English throughout. In the second module, students choose between a German and a French version, and the working language during this section of the programme corresponds to this choice.

Each module is completed either at Malmö University or Roskilde University. The fourth module may be carried out in cooperation with a European partner university.
